Some weddings are all about tradition.
Katie and Greg’s wedding was all about creating a celebration that felt completely and unapologetically them.
Relaxed. Joyful. A little bit chaotic. Full of laughter, good food, great people, and enough dancing to keep the party going until 3am.
Set amongst the beautiful Sussex countryside, The Yogurt Rooms, surrounded by friends camping for the weekend, their wedding wasn’t simply a day.
It was a weekend-long celebration.
Katie and Greg’s story began on Hinge.
While their first date went well, it was their second date at a science museum where everything really clicked.
A shared love of travelling, discovering the weird and wonderful, and not taking life too seriously quickly turned into something much bigger.
A few years later they became engaged.
And in keeping with their wonderfully unique approach to life, Katie’s engagement ring wasn’t a traditional diamond ring.
It was a spoon ring.
In fact, the spoon became such a special part of their story that it found its way into their wedding too.
Tables were named after different spoons, with meaningful family connections assigned to each one. The top table was named “Salt” after Katie’s salt spoon engagement ring, while family members found themselves seated at tables including “Wooden” and many more.
It was one of countless personal touches that made the entire weekend feel unmistakably Katie and Greg.

The celebrations started long before the ceremony.
Guests began arriving on Friday afternoon, settling into yurts and tents across the farm while friends reunited over drinks and food.
The atmosphere felt more like the opening day of a festival than a wedding.
Croquet appeared on the lawn.
Bean bags were thrown.
Katie & Greg’s Racing Frogs quickly became a talking point.
As more guests arrived, the venue slowly filled with laughter, conversation and excitement for the day ahead.
A hog roast kept everyone well fed while drinks flowed and stories were shared.
As the evening continued, Katie gathered everyone together and delivered a speech, welcoming friends and family who had travelled to celebrate with them.
It was the perfect start to a wedding weekend.

As the evening sun began to dip lower in the sky, the farm was bathed in a warm golden glow.
The wooden swing, tucked away amongst the venue grounds, became the perfect place for a few quiet moments together.
With the sun setting behind them and the celebrations continuing around them, Katie and Greg took a moment to simply enjoy being surrounded by the people they love most.
The evening eventually came to a close at 11pm, following strict instructions from Greg that everyone should get some sleep before the wedding day itself.
Whether everyone listened is another story entirely.

The following morning began with glorious sunshine.
Although the weather forecast had suggested cloud during the ceremony, the skies remained blue and the sun continued to shine throughout the day.
Katie spent the morning putting the finishing touches on decorations she had spent months creating.
Handmade bunting.
Table plans.
Signage.
And a beautifully hand-painted mirror welcoming guests as they arrived.
Every corner of the venue reflected the time, effort and creativity the couple had poured into their wedding.
Meanwhile Greg was busy making sure drinks were stocked, supplies were organised and his homemade cocktails were ready for guests to enjoy later in the day.
One of the most memorable moments of the morning happened before either of them had even seen each other.
As Katie got ready upstairs with her bridesmaids and mum, Greg and his groomsmen appeared below armed with paper aeroplanes and a gift.
The mission seemed simple.
Get the gift to Katie.
The reality proved slightly more difficult.
Several paper aeroplanes failed to make the journey before a little assistance from the bridesmaids finally helped deliver the package safely to its destination.
It was a wonderfully light-hearted moment that perfectly reflected their relationship.
Playful.
Fun.
And never taking themselves too seriously.

As guests took their seats outdoors, live strings filled the air and excitement quietly built around the venue.
Then Katie appeared.
Wearing a stunning floral wedding dress, with flowers that beautifully complemented the intricate detailing of the gown, she walked arm in arm with her father towards the bandstand.
Friends and family smiled as Greg watched his bride make her way down the aisle.
Readings from Katie’s mum Nicky and Greg’s sister Alice added a personal touch to the ceremony before vows were exchanged and rings placed on fingers.
Moments later, Katie and Greg were officially husband and wife.

With cheers from family and friends ringing out behind them, the newlyweds made their way back up the aisle.
But they weren’t finished just yet.
While guests collected handfuls of confetti and moved into position, Katie and Greg made their way back around to the start of the aisle ready to do it all again.
This time surrounded by a shower of colour, laughter and celebration.
Confetti filled the air as they walked through smiling faces, beginning married life exactly as they had spent the rest of the weekend.
Surrounded by the people they love.

Once family photographs were complete, guests gathered beneath the stretch tent to celebrate.
Drinks were poured.
Stories were shared.
And everyone finally had a chance to congratulate the newlyweds properly.
The speeches brought laughter, emotion and plenty of memorable stories from those who know Katie and Greg best.
Later came one of the sweetest traditions of the day.
Instead of cutting a wedding cake, Katie and Greg cut into a giant brownie.
A fitting choice for a bride famous amongst friends and family for her baking.

When it came to couple portraits, Katie and Greg wanted something relaxed.
No disappearing for hours.
No endless posing.
Just a chance to spend a little time together and enjoy the fact they were finally married.
So they wandered through the venue, laughed together, and naturally found themselves back at the swing that had featured so prominently the evening before.
A full-circle moment in a weekend already filled with them.

As evening arrived, it was time for the first dance.
Although calling it a first dance perhaps doesn’t tell the full story.
Katie and Greg began together before inviting family and friends onto the dance floor to join them.
What followed was the wonderfully chaotic energy that only a ceilidh can create.
Spinning.
Laughing.
Running in circles.
Trying to remember where everyone was supposed to be.
And having an incredible time doing it.
The dance floor remained packed as guests embraced every moment.

As darkness settled across the farm, the celebrations continued.
The DJ kept the dance floor busy while others gathered outside around the venue, enjoying conversations with friends old and new.
By 11pm the official celebrations had come to an end.
For some.
For others, there was still one final chapter left to write.
The karaoke room soon filled with enthusiastic singers determined to keep the party going.
Songs were sung.
Drinks were poured.
And somewhere around 3am, the final notes eventually faded away.
The following morning told the story of a wedding weekend well spent.
Decorations slowly came down.
Tents were packed away.
Friends and family worked together to help tidy up after the celebrations.
There were undoubtedly a few tired heads after a night of karaoke and dancing, but there were also plenty of smiles.
The kind that only come from a weekend spent celebrating something truly special.
Katie and Greg’s wedding was never going to fit neatly into a traditional wedding day.
It was a festival.
A reunion.
A celebration.
And a weekend full of laughter, love and unforgettable memories.
Congratulations, Katie and Greg.
